Scout is weak but very cheap. A good tower in the starting rounds. Shotgunner (or what I like to call the Enforcer) is a very strong close-range tower. Put them near the zombie spawn with a commander and watch them kill the whole wave. Unfortunately, you haven't listed the actual best tower in the game (AKA the Farm).buy accelerator and engineer Serious answer: Buy soldier and grind molten mode for better towers. It’s a pretty decent tower which costs only 250 coins to unlock. Go for ace after that since ace has pretty good cost efficiency and dps. Then you should buy some support towers and towers with high dps so you can grind molten faster.
